In class today we continued our project. I continued reading the story and made a couple discussion questions. This project is not hard but i am struggling staying focused for sure. I am also not looking forward to presenting.

In class today we received a project where we pick a theme. My partner and I chose the topic of gender roles within family and society. We get distracted easily which has made it harder to finish the story but i am trying to focus more. The story is also a bit hard to read because it is boring a little.

In class today we started to read The Devoted Son. We did not get to the questions portion of class but we read in our heads. We did not have that much time to read so i really only read about a page of the story. Based on the title the story is similar to what i thought it would be about. The story isn't that entertaining but its ok.

In class today to we made connections to a short story called "The Devoted Son". We answered five questions on what we think the story would be about and relating it to our life. After we answered the questions we read our answers out loud. We each answered about 2 questions out loud.

In class we read and annotated a poem. This poem was about holding in our anger with our enemy. I learned that I should not hold in my anger and that i should talk through problems I have with anyone even my foe.

We finished our poems today in class. I enjoyed creating this poems because it really resonates with me and I feel like it brings back a lot of memories when I read it. It gives me a lot of nostalgia and happiness and I want to show it to my parents. This was a fun little project to do.

Today in class we continued to work on our jam boards and our poems. I started to create my poems based around my family in st croix. Both of my parents are from st croix. We go to at croix every year arount Christmas time. It’s nice to be at the beach during the winter.

In class today we received a sheet of paper with directions. These directions were to create a poem about our culture with 4 literacy devices. After this we would create a jamboard and add pictures that related to our culture and who we are.
